Thank you for being good participants and for working hard on Tuesday. We had some challenging work to do that night! I know some of the work (especially the Labor Day reading and the sentence fragments) was difficult, but you gave a strong effort. We will continue to discuss the present continuous on Thursday and we will also have another sentence fragment activity, so hopefully it will all be very clear by the end of class on Thursday.
Just a reminder: Your
paragraph is due tomorrow at the beginning of class. Make sure that you print it and have it ready
by 6:30. I will not accept it by email.
Several people asked me to look at their paragraph
before/during break/after class on Tuesday.
Because this was the first assignment and the lab just opened, I tried to
help as many people as possible last night and give some brief suggestions. I looked at your paragraph quickly, so I
looked for the most important things (topic sentence, good support, conclusion,
organization). This doesn’t mean that your grammar and spelling is perfect. You should still review your grammar and
spelling before you turn it in. And,
make any changes that I or Alex or another tutor in the lab recommended. And, if I was not able to look at your
paragraph last night, try to go to the lab on Thursday for help/review if you
need it. For future assignments, I will
send you to the lab to review your paragraph with a tutor, so keep that in mind
with your schedule.
I appreciate that everyone is making a good effort to be on
time to class. J I could see that many people were even a few
minutes early, which I appreciate. Thank
you!
Have a great evening, and I will see you tomorrow! J
Best Wishes,
Kristin
